Sempervirens Fund is partnering with the California State Parks to create a new entry, parking lot, amenity core and visitor center as part of a long-term process of upgrading the facilities, accessibility and usability for CRSP. The visitors' center is conceived of as a series of pavillions that form an interwoven indoor/outdoor program sequence. The pavillions are unified with an arcade structure. The structures are designed to be expanded, relocated or contracted depending on the park's future needs through the use of an innovative kit-of-parts approach to the building elements. Although the project is not LEED certified, it is designed to an extremely high level of sustainability - approaching a net zero energy and water.
