Eagle Lodge’s architecture was developed to initiate a signature, environmentally sustainable architecture for Mammoth Mountain Resort. The lodge’s design takes full advantage of the site’s unique characteristics and features. Akin to a gently rising eagle, the proposed building form itself is a product of snow control and the reality that the building has no back side. The lodge's finishes are “Mammoth Mountain Contemporary,” fusing rustic mountain materials with open expanses of glass and pencil point column forms. Eagle Lodge’s standardized grid is composed of five identical segments for ease in fabrication and construction. The lodge's program includes food service, bar, rentals, lockers, retail, childcare, restrooms and various outdoor amenities.
